Remote Authentication

Honolulu Community College Library subscribes to research databases and indexes of magazines/journals, newspapers, and electronic books (e-books). Most electronic resources that the library manages are RESTRICTED to valid HCC students, faculty, and staff to comply with licensing agreements.

Off-campus users will be prompted to login via the UH Web Login Service when attempting to connect to a database; this is considered "remote authentication."

It is suggested that students sign in using the UH Web Login link and enter your UH username and password. After you have logged in and have been authenticated, you will have access to the database(s).
Login Prompt
You will NOT be permitted to access a database if...
  • you are not a HCC student, staff, or faculty member
  • your UH ID card has expired
  • you have $10.00 or more in unpaid library fines and fees

Find your 8-digit UH Number on your student ID card or log into the MyUH Portal and click on the "My Profile" tab.
