The Off-Campus Education Program offers accelerated and online credit classes at Hickam Air Force Base for military personnel, military dependents, as well as civilians. Honolulu Community College is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity College (SOC) consortium of colleges and universities dedicated to helping service members and their families obtain college degrees.

Degree programs include Liberal Arts, Fire and Environmental Emergency Response, Applied Trades (Navy), and UH and CCAF general core subjects. AA degree focus classes are also periodically available. All credits are in semester hours and the academic year consists of four ten-week terms.

Tuition

You are responsible for paying all tuition and fees for courses you are enrolled in, whether or not you attend class.

  • Resident/Military Exempt Tuition Rate: $250 per semester hour of credit
  • Non-Resident Tuition Rate: $357 per semester hour of credit ($25 application fee for a new student.)

Late Registration Fee

A late registration fee of $10 will be charged if a student registers during the late registration period.

Payment Due

You are responsible for paying all tuition and fees for courses you are enrolled in, whether or not you attend class.

Full payment is due upon registration. Students are considered "officially registered" when their portion of tuition, or a completed TA form (if applicable), is received. Honolulu CC will accept cash, money orders, VISA/MC (ONLY on-line via the UH Portal.), VISA/MC debit card, or checks made payable to the University of Hawaiʻi or Honolulu Community College.

Add/Drop and Withdrawal Policy

Adding or dropping a course is official only after the student has completed an add/drop card. A $5.00 fee is charged each time a student drops or adds a course(s) (except when replacing a canceled course). Note: There are no "even exchanges" if a class is dropped in the less than 100% refund period and another class is added. Students are responsible for paying the percentage lost and refunds usually take 6 to 8 weeks to process (see refund schedule on insert).

Textbooks

Textbooks are available for sale each semester at the Honolulu CC Hickam AFB office. Textbook refunds and purchases are only possible within the first two weeks of the term start date. Textbook prices vary from course to course.

Student Obligations

Students who have not satisfied their obligations (tuition, fees, fines, Health Clearance, etc.) will not be allowed to register for classes, participate in graduation ceremonies, and receive grade reports, diplomas, or transcripts.

Course Cancellations

Honolulu Community College reserves the right to cancel a course due to insufficient enrollment. Students will receive a full refund for any canceled course, or be offered an opportunity to transfer to another Honolulu CC course in the current term.

Parking for On-Campus Labs

Students who have lab courses at Honolulu CC will need to purchase a parking sticker ($7 for the Fall or Spring Semester). Please contact your instructor for more information, or call the Honolulu CC cashier’s office at (808) 845-9102.

  • Honolulu CC offers 5 and 10 week, accelerated terms at Hickam Air Force Base, online, and at Moanalua Community School for Adults.
  • You can earn an Associate in Arts degree in Liberal Arts, Associate in Applied Science in Applied Trades (Military), and Fire & Environmental Emergency Response by taking classes with Honolulu CC’s Off-Campus Program.
  • You can utilize our Liberal Arts Pre-Nursing degree plan and transfer your classes to the appropriate RN or LPN program at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa or Kapiolani CC.
  • We can help you complete your degree from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) by offering the specific courses you need.

Security Restrictions

Civilian students can now obtain a temporary pass to take classes on Hickam AFB. Advanced notice and a security background check are mandatory. Please contact our Hickam AFB office at (808) 421-4350 for more information.
