Courses for credit may be taken from the convenience of home through cable, online, and a combination of both thereby reducing or eliminating the need to come on campus. Distance education instructors use a variety of media to communicate with the student. Oceanic Video-On-Demand (VOD) Service for Cable Courses

Cable courses aired on UHTV channel 354/355 will also be available on UHVOD channel 358. UHVOD is a video-on-demand channel on Oceanic Time Warner Cable. Courses will be available for students to view 24-hours after it initially airs on channel 354/355.

Please note that UHVOD channel 358 is available to Oceanic Time Warner Cable DIGITAL SUBSCRIBERS.

UH students that are Cable Standard or Basic Cable subscribers (analog subscribers) must have the digital cable box to access the UHVOD channel 358. If they do not have the digital cable box, they may contact the Oceanic Cable Customer Care Service at (808) 643-2100 to find out how to get a digital cable box free of charge, some restrictions apply. Please refer to the CABLE Course Guide for more detailed information.

UH Online VOD Discontinued

The University's Information and Technology Services branch has discontinued the Online VOD service and is no longer available. All VOD services have been fully transitioned to Oceanic Digital Channel 358 for all islands. You must have Oceanic cable service AND a digital converter box to watch the Cable VOD courses on digital channel 358. Please refer to the CABLE Course Guide for more information.
