Grants, Scholarships, Waivers, and Loans

Grants, scholarships, waivers, and student loans will be credited to your student account no earlier than 10 days prior to the start of the semester based on your enrollment level at that time. These monies are used to pay for any tuition and fees you owe.

Please note that Federal Regulations require loans be disbursed 30 days after the first of school for first-time, first-year student loan borrowers.

Federal Work Study

In order to receive your Federal Work Study monies, you must visit the Honolulu Community College Career Readiness and Job Placement Center to inquire about on-campus or community service work-study opportunities. Once you are placed in a position, you will receive your work study monies in the form of a paycheck for the hours work.

Refunds

If your financial aid award is more than the cost of your tuition and fees, a refund check will be issued to you. Please allow at least 14 days from the disbursement date for your refund to get to you.

We highly recommend that you sign-up for e-Refund which will directly deposit your refund into the bank account you designate. If you do not sign-up for e-Refund, a check will be mailed to your mailing address as designated on your student records.
