- Your financial aid application will be considered as complete once the Honolulu Community College (HCC) Financial Aid Office receives all of your required documents. Once your application is complete, a Financial Aid Officer will review all of the documents and information that you submitted to determine your eligibility.
- Once a determination is made, you will be notified of your eligibility by mail.
- If you have been approved for financial aid, you must review your Award Offer and the "What You Should Know" document. After reviewing the information, you must accept or decline each of the financial aid awards that are offered on your Award Offer.
- Once the award is accepted, most financial aid awards will be applied directly to your Honolulu Community College tuition, student activity and publication fees. Read your "What You Should Know" document for more details.
- If your financial aid award is more than the cost of your Honolulu Community College tuition, student activity and publication fees, a refund check will be issued. Unless specified, refund checks will be mailed directly to you at your mailing address; therefore, it is important to keep your mailing address current with the Honolulu Community College Records Office (Building 6, first floor) or via MyUH Portal.
- If part of the Award Offer includes Federal Work Study, you must visit the Honolulu Community College Career Readiness and Job Placement Center (Building 6, first floor), to inquire about on-campus or community service work-study opportunities. Once you are placed in a position, you will receive a paycheck for the hours worked.
