FT 170 - Computerized Pattern Making

  • Prerequisite: "C" or higher in FT 160
  • Prerequisite or Co-requisite: ENG 22/60 or ESL 23, OR Placement in ENG 100
  • Instructor approval required.

This is a computerized pattern making course as applied in the garment industry. FT majors only. This course covers the capabilities of the Gerber Technology (GT) Pattern Design System-PDS and Silhouette. This system is designed to use CAD for specific industry application in pattern making and design.

2 hrs. lect.; 3 hrs. lab. per week

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of FT 170, the student will be able to:

  • Navigate through Pattern Design System (PDS), draft pattern pieces using PDS, clean up basic functions following draft, piece functions in PDS, line functions in PDS, and point functions in PDS.
