CMGT 214 - Building Systems for Construction Management

- Co-requisite: CMGT 210
CMGT majors only. This course provides a comprehensive look at building systems, as required by Construction Managers, giving students a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
2 hrs. lect.; 4 hrs. lab. per week
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of CMGT 214, the student will be able to:
- Know the basic principles of Building Science
- Understand basic principles of human comfort and perform psychrometric analysis of air conditioning processes
- Demonstrate knowledge of design, specifications, and methods of installation for water supply and disposal, storm water, fire protection, and electrical equipment systems
- Be able to produce a set of drawings for air, water, and electrical distribution systems
- Report to a workplace regularly, work with others in a professional manner, work from Oral and written instructions, and manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Demonstrate oral and written communication, computation, and problem solving skills appropriate to the level of the coursework
