- Prerequisite: "C" or higher in ENG 22/60 or ESL 23, OR Placement in ENG 100; "C" or higher in MATH 25, OR Placement in MATH 100/103/115; CMGT 100

CMGT majors only. Comprehensive overview of techniques and procedures to insure eff ective control of hazards and accidents in construction and allied industries; emphasis on applicable OSHA and HIOSH standards and related codes. Cross-listed as OESM 145.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of CMGT 145, the student will be able to:
- Identify specific HIOSH/OSHA construction standards
- Apply relevant HIOSH/OSHA construction standards to given construction scenarios
- Discuss major safety and health issues common to the construction environment
- Analyze various construction situations to identify hazards and recommend preventive/corrective measures
- Design and conduct a "toolbox" safety meeting
- Conduct short presentations on construction safety
