CMGT 123 - Building Information Modeling Basics for Construction Management

CMGT majors only. This course provides students with a well-rounded knowledge of Autodesk Revit software. All three platforms of Revit will be introduced; Revit Architecture, Revit Structure and Revit MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing).

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of CMGT 123, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate how Graphic Communication through working drawings ¡s used in the construction industry
- Demonstrate advanced drafting skills, using CAD software, by producing construction drawings
- Describe construction materials, methods and terminology
- Calculate and size materials through the basic understanding of building code guidelines
- Reproduce architectural detailing
- Demonstrate the skill to read blueprints accurately
- Report to a workplace regularly, work with others in a professional manner, work from oral and written instructions, and manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Demonstrate oral and written communication, computation, and problem solving skills appropriate to the level of the coursework
