AVIT 102 - Private Pilot Course

• Prerequisite: Placement in ENG 22/60 or ESL 23; Placement in MATH 103

AVIT majors only. This course enables students to develop the knowledge and skills needed to safely exercise the privileges and responsibilities of a Private Pilot acting as Pilot-in-Command of a single-engine airplane. The student must complete the appropriate academic and flight lessons to satisfactorily complete the course.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of AVIT 102, the student will be able to:

• Safely operate an airplane as a private pilot with an airplane single-engine land rating
• Satisfactorily pass the FAA Private Pilot - Airplane knowledge test, and
• Obtain the Private Pilot Certificate with an Airplane Single-engine land rating as outlined in the appropriate FAA Practical Test Standards and Federal Aviation Regulations.
