AERO 130 - General Aircraft Maintenance I (7)

  • Prerequisite: ENG 19 and/or ENG 21, OR ESL 13 & 14, OR Placement in ENG 22/60 or ESL 23; "C" or higher in MATH 50 OR Placement in MATH 103
  • Corequisite: AERO 131

AERO majors only. Blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, non-destructive testing, basic heat treating, aircraft ground handling, cleaning and corrosion control, fundamentals of applied mathematics, use of technical manuals and other maintenance functions as specified by Federal Aviation Regulation Part 147.

  • Identify and treat corrosion
  • Complete maintenance and inspection records
  • Read, comprehend, and apply information from manufacturers and the FAA
  • Extract roots and raise numbers to a given power
  • Determine areas and volumes of geometric shapes
  • Solve ratios, proportions, and percentage problems
  • Perform algebraic operations of signed numbers
