ABRP 77 - Estimating Vehicle Damage

ABRP majors only. The focus of this course will be to give students the opportunity to learn the basic skills and understanding needed to read and interpret a damage report. Students will also be given an opportunity to create a manually written damage report.

60 hrs. total. 6 hrs. lect.; 18 hrs. lab. per week over 2.5 weeks

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of ABRP 77, the student will be able to:

• Understand the fundamental uses of the estimate in the collision repair business
• Explain collision energy management and identify different types of damage
• Identify and describe a 'general plan for repairs on a collision damaged vehicle
• Explain a basic sequence for damage analysis. Student will be able to identify common industry part names and repair terms
• Locate and explain basic information in a collision estimating guide
