ABRP 63 - Welding And Cutting Techniques

  • Prerequisite or Co-requisite: ABRP 62
  • Co-requisite: ABRP 64, 65, 66, 67

ABRP majors only. This course will introduce the student to basic oxyacetylene welding techniques. Oxyacetylene and plasma arc cutting techniques will also be introduced.

60 hrs. total. 6 hrs. lect.; 18 hrs. lab. per week over 2.5 weeks

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of ABRP 63, the student will be able to:

  • Set up oxyacetylene equipment, demonstrate the types of flames, and run a bead with and without a filler rod
  • Set up oxyacetylene equipment and cut automotive sheet metal
  • Use the information provided to set up and use a plasma arc cutter
