Academics: CENT

What part of computers does this program focus on?

This program focuses on networking and computer systems administration and security. You will learn how to design, configure and maintain networks. You will also learn how to install, configure and maintain computer operating systems. Included in the program are some required basic programming courses, but it is not the goal of this program to train software developers.

Will I be able to get certified for CISCO, A+ and Microsoft after completing your program?

Our program technical standards have been developed to help students understand the minimum essential mental, physical, and behavioral skills necessary for participation in and completion of all core aspects of our curriculum.

Articulation Agreements

Computing, Electronics and Networking Technology (CENT) students at Honolulu Community College have options to continue their education for a bachelor's degree in programs related to CENT at Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) or at the University of Hawaii at West Oahu (UHWO).
